Meet the Board

Nick Geraci, President

My wife and I are retired teachers. Our house is situated where Deeson Pointe Blvd. joins Lake Deeson Pointe, so we see and are seen by pretty much all of you. I'm the guy who's outside most of the time, tinkering with the yard.

For me, the Lake Deeson Pointe Community represents many things; people walking by who stop and say hello, people driving by who wave, conversations that take place at the mailbox, seedlings and saplings that are swapped between neighbors, cookies and treats that are presented with a “Merry Christmas”.

Coming from the north ten years ago, I was told that it would take a while to get used to the warmth. It didn't take that long to get used to it, because they weren't talking about the weather.

I moved to Lake Deeson in 2020 and quickly came to appreciate the character of the neighborhood and the people who live here. One of the things I value most about this community is that it still feels like a place
where neighbors know each other, wave as they pass, and take pride in where they live.
The “Guardian of the Gate” title is Nick’s lighthearted way of describing my role in managing the community’s gate access system, including remotes, access support, troubleshooting, and repairs. This is my fourth year serving on the board and my third term as Vice President. I can’t honestly say I set out to become a long-term fixture in the role so much as I failed to decline
quickly enough, but I’ve been glad to serve. Over that time, I’ve gained a real appreciation for the work that goes into helping a community run well, and I’m happy to do my part to help keep Lake Deeson a place where
residents are proud to call home.

Susan Harding, Secretary

My husband, Alan, and I moved to Florida from England in 1999 with our two sons - Daniel, a personal trainer and nutritionist, and Adam, a young man with developmental disability.  

We started and operated an international tax and accounting firm for 20 years before retiring in 2020.  

We have served on several nonprofit boards and been involved in fundraising and membership for various organizations including American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Circle of Friends and ROAR Florida.  

We are strong advocates for inclusive life opportunities for families and individuals who experience disability.  

I love cooking, reading, walking, travel and gatherings with friends and family.  Alan’s passions include music (a drummer in a previous life), cricket, eating my cooking and football (soccer).  

Brian Fortin

I was raised in Maine, then moved to NJ, where I opened a flower and gift shop. After 30 years, I sold the business and traveled all over the world. I belonged to a ski club and skied all over Europe.

One of my most memorable adventures was skiing over the glacier field at St. Moritz, then taking off in a hang glider with my skis on, landing at the back door of my hotel with my instructor. There, the hotel manager met me with a glass of champagne. My instructor had OJ.

I also belonged to the Metropolitan Opera in New York City for 40years. I've attended over 250 operas.

I've been on the Board of Directors going on 4 years. I moved to Lake Deeson 16 years ago and have enjoyed every day of living here. Yes, I was a florist, but now, I live in a "green house"...go figure.

Nancy Guthrie

Our family moved to Lake Deeson October, 2012, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We have met and learned more about community at this place than anywhere we have lived. We are blessed with the best neighbors!

I am currently chair of the Hospitality Committee and look forward to serving you.

Brandon Diehl

Before settling in Lake Deeson in July 2024, Brandon and his family previously lived in Michigan.

Jim Ham

Jim has been a long time member and contributor to the Lake Deeson community and Board. His experience and observations have helped us all in many an instance.

Brian Tippel, Treasurer

My wife Michelle and I have called Lake Deeson Pointe home since 1990. A longtime community advocate, I have served on the HOA Board multiple times over the years in various roles, bringing continuity, institutional knowledge, and a practical approach to association matters.

As Treasurer, I am committed to responsible financial stewardship, ensuring the HOA’s resources are managed transparently and effectively to maintain and improve our community. Whether balancing the books or balancing a ladder, you’ll often find me out in the neighborhood fixing things—repairing common areas, helping neighbors, and quietly keeping our community looking its best.

Professionally, I work as an IT Specialist in the Finance area for the Florida Department of Transportation, where I combine technical expertise with financial knowledge—skills that directly support effective financial stewardship for the HOA.

Rusty Bloodworth

Another longtime member of the community, Rusty has recently moved into one of the newest houses in the neighborhood and has rejoined the Board after a bit of a hiatus. His opinions and contributions are greatly appreciated.
